Privacy Policy
How Dr.Abdul Kalam Trust for Educational & Greenery collects, uses, and protects your personal information.
- Dr.Abdul Kalam Trust for Educational & Greenery reserves its right to revise the Privacy Policy from time to time, without notice and at its absolute discretion, and such revisions shall be binding on the User.
- If the Site requests the User to provide personal information, the User will be informed for the particular purposes for which the information is gathered and adequate security measures will be taken to protect the User's personal information.
- The Site reserves the right to use any or all information submitted by Users for purposes such as data compilation, research and evaluation, subject to applicable law.
- Dr.Abdul Kalam Trust for Educational & Greenery does not sell or share any personally identifiable information volunteered on the Site to any third party (public/private). Any information provided on the Site shall be protected from loss, misuse, unauthorized, alteration, or destruction.
- We gather certain information about the User, such as internet protocol (IP) addresses, domain name, browser type, operating system, the date and time of the visit and the pages visited. We make no attempt to link these addresses with the identity of individuals visiting our site unless an attempt to damage the site has been detected.
Information We Collect
Depending on how you interact with us — donating, sponsoring, registering as a volunteer, submitting a service request, or applying for an award, on this website or the Dr.ABDUL KALAM TRUST mobile app — we may collect: your name, email address, mobile number, date of birth, gender, blood group, address, city, district, state, pincode, occupation, education qualification, and a profile photograph. Award applications may also collect details of your achievement and a recommender's name and contact details. Donations and sponsorships collect the amount contributed and, where applicable, your PAN for tax receipt purposes.
How We Use Your Information
We use this information to create and manage your volunteer/donor account, process donations and sponsorships, issue 80G tax receipts and volunteer ID cards, respond to service requests and award applications, and send account-related communications (login codes, receipts, confirmations). If you have donated or sponsored, your name, photo, and contribution tier may be shown on our public Donor Wall — you can hide your photo or appear as "Anonymous" there at any time from your account's privacy settings.
Account, Passwords & Login
Where an account is required, your password is stored as an irreversible one-way hash — we cannot see or recover it, and we will never ask for it by email, phone, or any other channel. As an alternative to a password, you may sign in using a one-time code (OTP) sent to your registered email address.
Payments
Donations, sponsorships, and ID card fees are processed through our third-party payment gateway, Razorpay. We do not store your card, UPI, or net-banking credentials — these are handled directly and securely by the payment gateway.
Third-Party Services
We use a small number of third-party services to operate the Site and app, each of which may process limited data under its own privacy policy: ZeptoMail (for delivering transactional emails such as OTP codes, receipts, and confirmations), Google reCAPTCHA (to prevent spam and abuse on public forms), and Google Analytics (to understand aggregate site usage).
Mobile App Permissions
The Dr.ABDUL KALAM TRUST Android app may request access to your camera or photo library (to upload a profile or award photo), your device location (to help pre-fill your district during sign-up), and notification permissions (to send you app updates). Each is requested only where needed for that feature and is never sold to third parties.
Data Retention
Donation, sponsorship, and receipt records are retained indefinitely for accounting, tax, and legal/compliance purposes, even after an account is deleted. Other profile information (address, photo, and similar details) is retained while your account is active and is removed on request as described below.
Your Rights — Access, Correction & Deletion
You can review and correct your profile information at any time by signing in to your account on the website or in the app. You may request deletion of your account and data — whether or not you still have the app installed — via our Delete My Account page, or from within your account (website: your account page's Danger Zone; app: Profile → Danger Zone). As noted above, donation and receipt records are retained even after deletion for legal and accounting reasons.
Applicable Law
The Privacy Policy herein shall be construed in accordance with and be governed by the laws of India. All disputes arising out of relating to the Privacy Policy shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts in Chennai.
